SPECIALIZED CHILDREN'S DENTISTRY SERVICES FOR CHILDREN'S DENTAL CARE

YOUR CHOICE FOR CHILDRENS DENTISTRY

At EMM Dental Clinic, we understand that children have unique dental needs and require a gentle and caring approach to ensure optimal oral health. Our clinic is led by general dentists but we also handle kids for preventative procedures such as checkups, cleaning, fluoride treatment, and sealants. Our dedicated team of experienced dentists is committed to providing exceptional dental care to children of all ages, creating a positive and comfortable environment that helps foster a lifetime of good oral hygiene habits.

WHY CHOOSE EMM DENTAL CLINIC FOR KIDS DENTISTRY

Kids dentistry focuses on the oral health of infants, children, and adolescents. It is essential to prioritize pediatric dental care for the following reasons:

✔   Preventive Care: Pediatric dentistry places a strong emphasis on preventive dental care. Regular check-ups, cleanings, and early intervention can help identify and address potential oral health issues before they become more severe, saving your child from discomfort and complex treatments in the future.

✔   Establishing Good Oral Health Habits: Early dental experiences play a crucial role in shaping a child's attitude towards oral health. Our pediatric dentists focus on education, teaching children proper brushing and flossing techniques, and promoting a positive attitude towards oral hygiene. These habits lay the foundation for a lifetime of good oral health.

✔   Age-Appropriate Treatments: Pediatric dentists understand that children's teeth and mouths are still developing. They tailor their treatments to suit the specific needs of young patients, using techniques and materials that are safe and appropriate for children.

A POSITIVE DENTAL EXPERIENCE FOR YOUR CHILD:

We understand that visiting the dentist can be an intimidating experience for children. That's why our pediatric dentistry team is committed to creating a warm and friendly environment. We strive to make each dental visit a positive experience, using child-friendly language, gentle techniques, and a caring approach to ensure your child feels comfortable and at ease.

EMM DENTAL CLINIC OFFERS A COMPREHENSIVE RANGE OF PEDIATRIC DENTAL SERVICES TO ADDRESS THE UNIQUE DENTAL NEEDS OF CHILDREN. OUR SERVICES INCLUDE:

  1. Dental Examinations: Our pediatric dentists perform thorough dental examinations to assess your child's oral health, identify any potential issues, and provide personalized treatment recommendations.

  2. Dental Cleanings: Professional cleanings are essential for maintaining your child's oral health. Our skilled dental hygienists gently remove plaque and tartar from your child's teeth, helping prevent cavities and gum disease.

  3. Dental Sealants: Dental sealants are a protective coating applied to the chewing surfaces of your child's back teeth. They act as a barrier against decay-causing bacteria, helping to prevent cavities.

  4. Fluoride Treatments: Fluoride is a mineral that strengthens tooth enamel and helps prevent tooth decay. Our pediatric dentists may recommend fluoride treatments to protect your child's teeth from cavities.

  5. Restorative Treatments: If your child has a cavity or dental injury, our pediatric dentists offer a range of restorative treatments, including fillings and crowns, to restore the health and function of their teeth.

  6. Orthodontic Evaluations: Our pediatric dentists monitor the growth and development of your child's teeth and jaws. If orthodontic treatment is needed, we can provide early evaluations and referrals to orthodontic specialists.

Children have a smaller number of teeth, and their jaws are also smaller compared to adults. Typically, children will develop a total of 20 primary teeth, starting with the front teeth, known as incisors, which are the most visible part of their smile. The eruption of these teeth is followed by the molars situated at the back. Around the age of six, the first permanent molars will emerge behind the primary molars. At approximately 12 years old, the second molars make their appearance, and by the age of 18, the wisdom teeth commonly erupt, resulting in a total of 32 teeth.

Although most infants are not born with any teeth, some may already have one or more teeth present at birth. The timing of when children's teeth come in can vary, but the following list provides a general indication of when primary teeth may start to appear:

✔ The front teeth, known as central incisors, typically emerge between 6 and 12 months of age.

Lateral incisors, located next to the central incisors, usually appear between 9 and 13 months.

Canine teeth, which are sharper and more pointed, tend to come in around 16 months to 2 years.

✔ The first and second molars, larger and flatter teeth, typically start appearing between 1 and 3 years of age.
